A local partnership supporting the two homes of the Ronald McDonald Family Retreat in Rotorua.
I recommend Ideal Electrical Rotorua support the 2027 event through corporate sponsorship and a heat pump donation for the live auction.
The proposal brings together community support, local brand exposure and an opportunity to strengthen an existing customer relationship.
01 / The proposal
Corporate sponsorship and an auction contribution
The committee offers five corporate sponsorship places. I propose taking one place and contributing a Toshiba heat pump as a separate live auction item, subject to the committee confirming its inclusion.

Toshiba heat pump donation
Proposed model: TOSSEIYA18, listed in the branch proposal as 5.6kW heating / 5kW cooling. Budgeted at $1,200 against the stated buy price of $1,140. Final supply cost to be confirmed.

Why I’m recommending it
Relevant local connections
The event brings together local business leaders, professionals and community supporters. It gives Ideal a presence with a broad Rotorua audience and a table we could use to host customers.
An existing customer relationship
The approach came through Tristan Hall Electrical, one of our accounts, which carries out the electrical work on both retreat homes. Tristan and Robyn Hall have served on the committee for fifteen years. Supporting the event would be a practical way to support a cause they have a longstanding commitment to.
Visibility beyond the evening
The package combines recognition in publications for a year with social media promotion and event branding. The auction donation also offers recognition through the committee’s auction promotion.
A clear community benefit
The event funds the running costs of two lakeside retreat homes in Rotorua. According to the committee’s letter, they provide a free week’s accommodation to over 80 families each year with a seriously or terminally ill child, giving families time to rest and reconnect.
The committee has also noted Ideal NZ’s existing Room Sponsorship at Ronald McDonald House. This proposal would support the Rotorua Family Retreat; Marketing can confirm how it fits with our wider sponsorship commitments.
03 / Budget and value
A defined commitment for 2027
The proposed budget is $6,200, with the Rotorua branch proposed to carry the cost, subject to approval. For budgeting context, that is equivalent to approximately $517 a month.
The monthly equivalent is for budget comparison, not a payment schedule. Final costs will be confirmed before the commitment is finalised. Any future sponsorship would be considered separately.
The value is in the combination of local visibility, customer hospitality and community support. There is no quantified sales return at this stage. If approved, we can review the delivered promotion, use of the table and customer feedback after the event to inform any future decision.
04 / Timing
An indication before Christmas
The committee aims to confirm sponsors and donated items by Christmas so promotion can begin in the New Year. An early indication would allow us to check availability and agree the details.
